FOOD FOR THE BODY AND SOUL - THIS TEAM MAKES IT HAPPEN
The
Odd Fellow and Rebekah Nursing Home kitchen opens at 5:30 a.m. for
residents to enjoy their early morning coffee or tea. The three cooks,
three assistant cooks, three dishwashers and one supervisor work together
to provide nutritious meals and a healthy environment.
Our
residents receive three hot meals each day. Residents choose each meal
from the regular menu or an alternate meal. The regular meal is from a six
months cyclical menu. The cooking staff chooses the alternate meal.
Choices are posted before meals at both dining room entrances.
Nutritious
snacks, shakes and juices are provided between meals and at bedtime.
Orange juice, graham crackers, and sandwiches are available for our
diabetic residents who experience low blood sugar during the night. Family
members and guests may join their loved one at meals for a small charge of
$4.
The Dietary
Manager oversees the staff, food preparation, orders
food and supplies for the kitchen, and assists in serving the residents.
Mrs. Robinson meets with new residents to design a diet that will meet
doctors’ orders and residents particular likes and dislikes.
In
addition to the 24/7 meals, the staff prepares food for all holidays and
special events.
